Mental Health Awareness

Mental health is a hot topic right now. Over 70 million working days are lost each year in the UK due to psychological issues involving stress, anxiety and depression.

As mental health contributes to employee engagement, it's important to consider its role in your overall engagement strategy.

You can choose from a number of different Mental Health Awareness options with our mental health specialist:

  • Mental Health Awareness training - foundation course

  • In-house counselling services for employees, managers and leaders

  • One-to-one work with leaders

  • 6 session mental health support for individuals

Mental Health Awareness Training

It has become clear that addressing mental health is no longer a “nice-to-have” but rather a fundamental building block of the healthy workplace. There are direct implications in terms of the levels of absenteeism, presenteeism, productivity and engagement.

This half-day workshop helps people to recognise the symptoms of common mental health issues (such as anxiety, stress, depression, panic attacks) and how these impact people at work. Finally, the session explores practical approaches to helping people who are experiencing emotional and psychological distress, such as EAP, well-being courses, talking therapies and the NHS. The session is delivered by a qualified mental health professional.

In-house counselling services for employees, managers and leaders

We can provide a weekly time slot where employees can access an hourly session with a highly qualified counsellor / psychotherapist. This can be an invaluable area of mental health support and we have found that many companies are interested in providing a comprehensive service to their employees.

The benefits can be multiple: better staff retention, better productivity and addressing areas of difficulty before they become a critical issue.

One-to-one work with leaders

Leaders often benefit from a reflective space to consider any workplace pressures and conflicts that may be affecting their decision-making and effective implementation of strategies.

We can help leaders think about what they may be struggling with, with a focus on outcomes.

6 session mental health support for individuals

This is a structured six-session service providing counselling / mental health support.

Usually a core issue is identified and worked on with the individual. For example, if there is difficulty meeting targets, then this may be addressed in terms of any underlying issues, like anxiety or fear of failure.
